The January Cure- One month later
Hello! How's it going? I'm over here completely ready for Spring but the weather has other ideas! It doesn't matter though. I spent the morning changing the curtains and putting out the Spring decorations. One of these days the warm weather is going to stay! Until then, I'll just keep pretending.
It's been about a month since the end of the Janaury Cure, and although I didn't write posts on the last couple tasks, or really complete them, I'm calling it a win. The outbox hasn't been emptied yet and everything that was cleaned is now dirtied again, but I digress.
I can overlook all of that since the cabinets are finally painted!!!
It wasn't *that* hard to paint them but it did take forever since there were probably 6-7 coats of paint that had to dry. And I made sure they were really dry between coats a.k.a. I sometimes went a week between coats of paint. Tack on an hour or two to reassemble everything and just imagine the happy dance I did when it was all over.
The January Cure was just the kick in the butt I needed to start -and finish- painting them. All the extra stuff was just a bonus. I'm thinking about making my own version of the Cure next year. I might even make it February since that's the shortest month and it's my show so I can do what I want.
But in all seriousness, it was great to feel like my home was in order, especially since there was so much extra going on at the time. Even on a normal day, I'm constantly "on" all the time and it's hard to turn off when there's a mess to be cleaned or job to be done. Don't get me wrong though, I thoroughly enjoy making messes, and encourage our daughter to do the same. Making the mess is half the fun! (And no, I'm not going to say cleaning it up is the other half. I'm not that bad!)
That's a picture from a typical day of keeping our three year old entertained while I painted. I'm just happy she got the glitter and sequins out after the topcoat was dry! She would have loved it I'm sure, me not so much. Don't let the broom and dustpan fool you either, those only helped her make more of a mess!
The kitchen is almost complete- for now. We just need to spend a weekend working on doing the trim. I've been saying that for months now but we keep moving onto other projects. Hopefully before Easter it will be complete and I can share it all with you.
Too bad we bought supplies for another project yesterday, whoops.
