January Cure- Assignment 13 (and 15!)

Happy Thursday!  I'm finally buckling down a bit to catch up on posts.  Things have been a bit more hectic than usual at our little farmhouse but we're pushing on.  It's been a lot of long days and this crazy weather isn't helping!  We just went from the coldest two weeks ever to 60 degree weather that almost made me un-winterize the windows.  In January!  At least it's getting me thinking about the garden this year and what we will be planting.  I miss having a farmer's market in my backyard!

But for now, it's back to the Cure.  This assignment is proof that while I may be slow to write, I have most definitely not been slacking!  Time to clean the medicine cabinet!

Wait.  We don't have one of those.

I really wanted to bask in the glory of "not applicable."

But then I looked ahead and saw that Assignment 15 is to clean the linen closet.  Drat!  But at least I get a two-fer!

We've been using the bathroom linen closet as a linen closet slash medicine cabinet since we moved here.  Jon actually picked up an old medicine cabinet for $5 at a salvage place, which we were going to mount over the toilet with a picture instead of a mirror (cool idea, right?) but we haven't gotten around to doing it yet.  So we've been using bins and stackable drawers to contain everything we need.  It's worked out pretty well, actually.

Not too much changed but it was just enough to make me feel like I accomplished something!

So  took day 13 to straighten and clean up the linen closet.  I did everything we were supposed to do for the medicine cabinet, just a little extra.  I tossed anything old, expired or of no use and tried to make it all a little more organized.  The linens are all newer so there wasn't a need to see if i needed anything new, they just needed to be piled better.  And little girl was happy because I found some forgotten tub toys hiding in the back so bath night was extra fun! Which is good for me, since I did this while she played in the bath.

There weren't too many things to toss thankfully, but I was able to make it all look a little more presentable.  Not that I invite everyone who comes into our house to look in the linen closet, but hey, it's on the internet now so I guess it should be straightened!

This really was a great 20 minute task to help me feel a bit accomplished during a week when it feels like nothing is getting done.  Onward and upward!
