January Cure- Assignment 2

After yesterday's slightly embarrassing yet highly-rewarding task of cleaning out a junk drawer, onto day two!

Today's task is to going around your home and making a list of things you want to change or things you need to fix.  Step in each room and find the little things- and big things- that need to get done to make it better and you happier.  Is it finally time to bite the bullet and buy a new rug to replace the old stained one?  Maybe a window is missing a screen? Or maybe it's time you rip down those ugly cabinets you hate.  Whatever it is, now's the time to write it down!  Once the list is complete (can it ever really be complete?) highlight the items you want to cross off in the upcoming year.

Sneaky, right?  You think you sign up for a one month project and they let it slip on day two that you're expected to continue on your own after.  They're lucky I'm a glutton for punishment.

So off I went on my merry list-making way.  Full disclosure: I make lists for everything.  I like to know what needs to get done, seeing it get done, and having the satisfaction of crossing it off my list.  And yes, I totally add things to the list that have been done already.  Judge if you must but I won't stop doing it.  So, not surprisingly, I already had a running list of things on my phone of what we want to do around the house.  It's been added to, amended and edited in the past couple years, but it's always there, reminding me there is work to be done.

Even still, I made a new list today.  And it's a long one.  There are a lot of small things on the list, as well as some big ones.  (New HVAC anyone?)  I didn't even consult Jon on this list because 1.) I know it would be a lot longer and 2.) That movie room that on the list?  It's his #1 and didn't even make it into my highlight round!  Sorry, honey!

Yeah, it's a long list.  And it's ambitiously highlighted.  But this year is slated to be a whole twelve months!  That's plenty of time to do all that, plus add in more projects that I'm sure will just happen to get started! And yeah, you and I both know that the hubby will be getting his movie room started this year, if only to stop hearing about it.  Also, it is a pretty cool project and will give me an excuse to make the main part of the basement prettier.  Marriage is a compromise, right?

Well, day two is in the books.  Lucky for you, if you actually enjoy this blog you can almost watch  me crossing these items off my list as they're fixed.  Satisfaction is probably only guaranteed for me though.
