January Cure- Assignment 8

I'll be straight.  Once kiddo goes to bed and dinner is cleaned up, the couch is my happy place.  For at least an hour I get to veg out, catch up on some shows, read a book or mindlessly scroll Facebook and it's glorious.  After going full steam for 18+ hours it's nice to relax.  So I try to be as nice as can be to the couch.  Which is why this assignment is awesome- Clean the couch!

I know, the things I get excited about rate really high up on the fun-o-meter.  Even better, I can admit to doing this monthly.  (I have a whole list of chores I do the first weekend of the month.  Maybe one day I'll write about it, if you promise you won't check in to make sure I've done them all.)

If you couldn't tell, Tola was not into this assignment!

Plopping down on a perfectly fluffed couch with fresh throw blankets is almost as nice as belly-flopping into a freshly made bed, with the added bonus that snacks aren't frowned upon.  So we should be nice to the main place we seek relaxation- well, conscious relaxation anyway.

Even though it's mid-month and I just did this, I'll do it again.  It usually takes me all of five minutes to vacuum up any crumbs under the cushions, use the brush attachment on the vacuum on the fabric then rotate and replace the cushions.  For added measure this time I'll put the throw pillows in the dryer on fluff to get them extra comfy and wash the throw.

It may be neater, but it's not as cozy without the puppy dog!

Isn't that blanket awesome?!  My mom knit it for us a couple years back.  She usually just crochets but when Jon saw a similar one from Pottery Barn I asked if she was into expanding her craft.  After what I'm sure was countless hand cramps, we got this awesome blanket that is even cozier now than the day we got it.  (Thanks, Mom!)
