Hey guys! It’s your favorite mediocre blogger here with an exciting topic- dryer lint!

Haha, sorry I can’t help but laugh but really, when’s the last time you really cleaned out the lint from your dryer? For me, the answer was never, aside from the usual clean the lint screen and not-quite-often-enough cleaning of the exhaust vent. But did you know there’s a whole bunch of lint caught in the dryer too that should be cleaned out? So many house fires are started because of the dryer, and honestly, it’s not hard to make sure yours is safer for your family.

What kind of blogger would I be if I didn’t show you a picture?!

I’m admittedly neurotic about these kind of things, especially when the health or safety of my family is concerned. The way I see it, there’s enough unpredictable that happens in the world, why not make sure we’re controlling what we can? So when I saw this flexible dryer cleaner I knew it was something I’d want to try out.

It’s basically a long flexible hose that you stick onto the hose of your own vacuum. It was super simple to. Start to finish I was done in 5 minutes. I don’t know how to measure dryer lint, but I’d say it was about a soccer ball worth? Maybe 5-6 cups?

If you’re feeling really DIY handy about yourself, cram some of that dryer lint into a paper towel or toilet paper tube and use it as a fire starter. Once you see how quickly it lights, you’ll be happy to know it’s no longer in your dryer an accident waiting to happen!

Here’s a link to the vacuum attachment I bought. (Not an affiliate link.)
