I don't know about anyone else, but while it's nice to know there are no longer dust bunnies under the couch, the rest of the floor already needs to be cleaned again.  Cleanliness is fleeting, I  guess.

Tola was not impressed with the clean floors, since she’ll eat off them anyway.

I’m a day late posting yesterday’s assignment from Apartment Therapy’s January Cure.   First, because Mondays.  Second because yesterday's task was kind of a non-task for me.  The task is to spend time with your home.  No television.  No distractions.  Move around your home viewing it from different places.  Sit in every seat.  Check out every angle you can.  Experience your home.

Now, don't get me wrong.  I think this is a great exercise to do every once in a while.  It's always important to make sure that every seat is comfortable enough for guests and a place you wouldn't mind sitting.  Maybe you sit in a chair and discover you can easily glance over and see the toilet.  Might be a viewing angle you'd want to fix, don't you think?  Anyway, the first task kind of covered this, at least to me.  Maybe it's just because I always feel like I'm looking around for projects and improvements, but I wasn't feeling it yesterday.

So I'm modifying this assignment. I'm just about always the first person to wake up in the morning but delay actually getting up as long as possible. Instead of laying in bed wishing I could get a few more minutes of glorious sleep in, I'm going to get up, make a cup of hot coffee and enjoy the rare stillness of home. It will be a nice change of pace before the day really begins.
